Jim Schoenfield - Vice President

 

Jim is a 1978 graduate of Kearsley High School.  From a family of electrical contractors, Jim completed his IBEW Electrical Apprenticeship in 1987. Most of his career was spent with Newkirk Electric, where he rose from Journeyman up to Flint Division Manager.  His project experience is wide ranging and includes medical, commercial, and industrial projects of all sizes. Career highlights include being Project Manager for the electrical portion of the renovation of historic Hill Auditorium on the campus of The University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, the Genesys Athletic Club in Grand Blanc, the CS Mott Engineering & Science Building at Kettering University in Flint, and seven Target stores around southeast Michigan. Jim is also considered a preferred provider of electrical contracting services for GM Flint Truck Assembly in Flint, GM Service Parts Operations in Swartz Creek and Grand Blanc, and at the campus of The University of Michigan- Flint.

 

Jim started Walker Electric in 2004 with his wife Dee. The company’s name is derived from Jim’s middle name.

David Gregg - Estimator

Dave has successfully estimated projects ranging in value from $12,000 to $3,000,000. He has also handled project management, billing and material tracking.  Dave entered the United States Army after graduating high school and attended both the Primary Leadership Development Course and Basic Non-Commissioned Officers Course.

 

Dave is a 1991 graduate of Swartz Creek High School. After the Army, he spent seven years with S.B. Jones Electrical Contracting of Lawton Oklahoma.  He also worked as a foreman and project Manager for Goodrich Electrical Contracting in Lansing Michigan. Dave holds Journeyman electrician cards in both Michigan and Oklahoma.

His “can-do” attitude, work ethic and team player approach make Dave an excellent addition to the Walker Electric staff.

Karl Worges -General Foreman

 

Karl graduated from Grand Blanc High School in 1973 and entered the US Air Force shortly after graduation. His electrical training began at Keesler Technical Training Center in Biloxi, Mississippi where he learned to repair airborne electronic navigation systems or avionics.  Upon receiving his Honorable Discharge in 1978, Karl entered his IBEW Electrical Apprenticeship.

 

Karl’s electrical career now spans three decades and includes such landmark projects as Genesys Hospital in Grand Blanc,  Brighton Hospital Chiller Installation, the new Bishop Airport terminal in Flint, Thompson Library on the campus of The University of Michigan-Flint, Water Street Pavilion in Flint and the Great Lakes Tech Center in Flint. On the industrial side, Karl has run numerous projects at Flint’s V6 Engine Plant, Flint Engine South, and GM SPO facilities in Swartz Creek and Grand Blanc.
